Safety Tips for Finding a Crib

Tips to finding the safest crib for your baby:

Research is Essential.

Do your homework. Find out what crib manufacturers are available. This will help you find reputable companies that adhere and meet all government safety standards. Also, it will help you narrow down your search for functionality, price point, style and safety.

Crib is the Safest Place to Sleep.

The safest place for baby to sleep is in a crib that meets all current Federal and ASTM standards. When shopping look on the packaged box for the JPMA logo or visit the manufacturer website for more information. Most companies have a consumer service team ready to help answer any and all questions about their products.

The Mattress.

Most cribs do not come with a mattress and is sold separately. When looking for the mattress make sure it's firm and fit snugly between the edge of the mattress and the crib sides. This will keep baby from getting trapped between the mattress and the side of the crib.

Keep it Clean.

The crib should be clutter free and clean. No toys, big blankets, pillows or pillow-like bumpers inside the crib.
