The Trentonian: Operation Homefront hosts baby shower for families from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
COOKSTOWN — Operation Homefront, with the support of Delta Children hosted a Star-Spangled Babies baby shower for 50 pre-registered new and expecting military families from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst on Wednesday, September 27 at VFW Post #6590 in Cookstown.
Welcoming a new baby to the family can be difficult for military parents-to-be who often live far from their extended families and support systems – and even more so when finances are tight. During this event, Operation Homefront celebrates military families, provides resources, and helps alleviate some of the costs by distributing essential baby supplies including mini cribs and mattresses provided by Delta Children, the largest baby and kids’ furniture brand. In doing so, they will make it easier for service members to focus on welcoming the newest member of their families. Beyond the material donations, the event also fosters community and offers emotional support to military families. It’s a chance for these families to connect with others who understand the unique challenges they face.
